I Have Never Met

As I type,
I'm sitting and staring
at the Met Opera.

It seems only fitting that
I take this opportunity
to tell you :

I love the Opera.

I love Puccini.
(and that he is from perfect Lucca.)

... and I love that I am going
to my maiden performance
at the Met Opera
of TOSCA
tomorrow night!

Do any of you love the Opera?

I would love to hear about your favorite show,
opera house, or memory...

I think after tomorrow-
my list of "opera favorites" will have expanded.

Start Spreading the News...

Luckily for me,
this is entirely true.

I'm headed to the city for 2 weeks of work...
okay- and play.

I always love hearing about my friends favorite places-
What are your "musts" for Manhattan,
so I can try your favorite places!

Holding Court

Ahh... the lazy days of summer are upon us.

Time to head out to Cape Cod,
and waste the days
at the beach & on the tennis court.

And what might the dress code be
on the courts of Cape Cod?

Navy wristbands,

white sweaters,

and svelte legs...

naturally.

Happiness!

Happy Birthday,
Mr. Wonderful!

You are my own slice of heaven!

*This cake was made by MarthaStewart.com.... and sadly, I had no part in it. Sigh.

Kennedy Jr....

I have to admit:
I've never had a namesake.

Imagine my joy & surprise
when I heard that this piece
was named in my honor.

*tear*
I was even prouder
when I saw how gorgeous it is.

Ms. Kennedy would love to have in her home.

Luckily, I can.
(and so can you!)

This killer piece is
for sale

Thank you,
for giving this
Aspirational Kennedy
a legacy of her own.

Long Island Hot Tea

This week is proving to be crazier
than the Admirals Club in an ice storm.

Our largest trade show starts next week
(Hello Jacob Javitz Convention Center!),
Mr. Wonderful has a birthday tomorrow,
my sister's college graduation is Saturday,
and Mother's Day is Sunday.

YIKES!

I need a drink.

But apparently, martini lunches
aren't as acceptable
as they once were.

Phooey.
So I drink tea.

Lots..

and

lots...

of green tea.

And this kind is my absolute favorite:

It may not soothe the senses as much as wine,
but I do feel relaxed...
and maybe even slightly British.

Antweeking My Perspective.

As my mother who came before me,
so it was written in my destiny:

I, too, was bred for antiquing.

It may not be a understated and chic market outside of Paris...

... or a hip neighborhood street market in Manhattan...

... but if you keep your mind open and your eyes peeled...

... who knows what goodies you are destined to find.

Where do you find your best "flea finds?"
What great local places have you found?

For more on our day at the flea market, visit the Nest Dallas blog.
