When you visit Aspiring Kennedy,
what do you expect to see?
Probably something cheesey & lovey...
all to often, a feature of something British...
& of course, me on my daily quest of getting things for free.
Well friends,
today's post is no exception.
In fact, it's the marriage of all of these common elements.
It's my pleasure to give one of you
the adorable new hit book,
From Notting Hill
With Love... Actually.
I nearly got whiplash when I first passed this book at the store.
I tossed it in my basket, flew through it on my flight, and I must say:
this is chick-lit at it's finest.
Great plot, relatable characters, gorgeous backdrops
all sprinkled with a heavy dose of pop-culture references.

I'm a big fan of chick flicks. All of them. I can't get enough of a good sappy romance story. I guess my favorite would be When Harry Met Sally. A good mix of romance, comedy, and hilarious fashion.

ReplyDeleteI love Colin Firth!

ReplyDeleteGood morning from Tokyo!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite "chick flick" is a little unusual: Kate & Leopold. Hugh Jackman's first post X-Men movie was lovely, romantic, and features a pre-bad plastic surgery Meg Ryan. It's a time-traveling romantic comedy which combines the magic of old-fashioned courting with modern day complicatins. Oh it's just lovely...
Warmly,
Elizabeth
And I follow your blog publicly!

I would enter @aspiringkennedy's literati giveaway but my iPhone's being a twat and isn't letting me leave blog comments.
During our Dallas "Winter Break" last week, I watched ever-so-many chick flicks. Perhaps every movie ever made of a Jane Austen and Emily Bronte book.
ReplyDeleteBut my favorite? So difficult to narrow down. I'm quite partial to "An Affair to Remember" and "Splendor in the Grass."
Follower!
ReplyDeleteOn my Blog Roll!
ReplyDeleteJude Law! Oh my yes!
ReplyDeletePride and Prejudice (I actually prefer the Keira Knightley version)
ReplyDeleteThe Holiday

ReplyDeleteDeclaring my love, as ever, for the debonair Colin Firth. I've swooned every time he's stepped to the microphone at the recent awards shows!

ReplyDeleteTweet Tweet! Just followed you and shared your giveaway with my twitter peeps - and added a disclaimer that if they win, they must give me the prize! ;)
ReplyDeleteUm, tough choice, but Colin Firth is lovely. Particularly after his performance in The King's Speech.
ReplyDeleteFavorite chick flick - might be hard to choose....Dirty Dancing is obviously up there with Pretty Woman, but of more recent years, definitely Notting Hill, Love Actually, and of course The Holiday!
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny!
ReplyDelete1 )I follow you publically - check!
2) I am "like you" on fb - check!
3 Will add to the blog roll!
4) Just twitted!
5) If I had to pick out of these three - Colin Firth -- however
Why is Gerard Butler not on this list? I choose Gerard. Or Christian Bale.
6) Steel Magnolias, Jerry Maquire, Casablanca, Pretty Woman....the list
goes on...
PS--Aspiring Kennedy is on the faves over on my blog. And I've been thinking about the chick flick fave all day since I posted. I mean, I pretty much can quote "Dirty Dancing" and "Steel Magnolias" from start to finish, so perhaps those are on the list with "An Affair to Remember" and "Splendor in the Grass" et al...
