I had sadly accepted the absence of cilantro in my life,
until I discovered it was all over the UK...
just was hiding under another name!
So there you have it.
Three simple things that can enhance
your cooking and dining in the happiest of ways...
as long as you know to look out for them!
Aubergine just sounds so much more appetizing! Happy Friday, Cutie! xo
ReplyDelete3 names for eggplant in SA. Eggplant, aubergine or brinjal...come visit here even sooner!! Have a fabulous weekend. X
ReplyDeleteSo that's what coriander is... :)
ReplyDeleteWe use them interchangeably here so yes, they are both the deliciously delightful herb I insist on putting on everything I possibly can- yum!!!
ReplyDeletefrench just makes everything nicer doesn't it? auuuberginnee! delightful.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!
I knew about aubergine...I think we should adopt it in the States! It sounds much more sophisticated! Cilantro is coriander-I never knew that, super interesting! I love cilantro too, I just learned recently that it's a very polarizing herb-people either love it or hate it with a passion...
ReplyDeleteHa! Who knew? (besides...Europe) I always imagined coriander as the seed...not the whole plant. Welcome back to the world of cilantro (or what have you)!
ReplyDeleteToo funny... amazing that the Brits are using French words for things given their attitude toward them!

After living in the US for 18 years I do try to hold on to my Englishness but sometimes words like eggplant just slip out!
ReplyDelete:-)
So is there such a dish as eggplant parmesan? Or is it aubergine parmesan??
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the words "aubergine" and "courgette." So much more civilized.
ReplyDeleteHaha so cute!

Love your little culinary lesson - and what a cute design!! Sometimes it's the basics that can make your day.
ReplyDeleteCoriander is SO not cilantro! I hate to think of you in the UK, living in a cilantro free world! I'm so glad you've been reunited. I put it in everything!
