My husband has to go to India for all of July,
right as I get extremely busy with work in England.
Which would leave me in England all by myself for the month.
Boo.
My inability to mooch off his adventure was causing a bit of frustration for me,
as I'd been dreaming of delicious food, elephant rides, & cheap massages for quite some time.
Luckily, we figured out a way for me to head there for the tail end of his trip this weekend...
and I had my visa appointment this morning in London.
Hoorah!
elephant, shoes, people |
As I have waded through the visa & flight planning,
it's pretty clear that I am clueless
in planning a vacation to India.
Can you help me?
Have any great tips for elephant farms in Goa?
Know any special people in Agra?
Work for any cool hotel chain in New Delhi?
{Even though India may be relatively cheap, wallet-friendly advice is especially welcome...}
It's years since I've been, just don't touch any fruit, veg or salads. I lost 8 pounds in a week. On a separate trip my hubs lost 12 lbs!
ReplyDeleteMy hubs is going away in July too and I'm well miffed that I can't go along.

ReplyDeleteps: got my make up!! wooo hooo, thanks! cant wait to try everything! xo
We just went to India for two weeks in April and the best advice that I could give you would be to go with a tour. I can not imagine doing it without our great guide who told us what we should avoid eating and helped negotiate prices for us on some things. We went with On the Go but there are lots of tours.
ReplyDeleteThe Taj Mahal is one of my favorite monuments that I have ever seen and you can get some beautiful things in Agra and Jaipur. Save your money for the Gem palace in Jaipur!
Honestly we found that it wasn't as cheap as we were told it was going to be but because you are going in the off season you can probably find some good deals.
Hope you have a great time!
I'm afraid I've got nothing in the way of help. But, it did strike me that you are truly living your own happier version of Eat, Pray, Love!! :)

Girl you are living the dream. PICTURES PLEASE!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you get to spend some time in India with your hubby...what a great trip!!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to India, but I have ridden an elephant on a few occasions and I advise that you not wear light colored shorts. They're very dusty :)

ReplyDeleteWhat exactly does your husband do for a living? Is he James Bond. No, really, because it's sounding like that more and more.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely need to meet up in England. I'll be there for most of July. I am so excited to see this magnificent city.
