Med Degree: Tom Ford, Neroli Portofino

The other day, I was in John Lewis and made a new friend at the Tom Ford counter.

I mean, this guy was really awesome...
he's was an LA native in a killer suit
with some sweet specs.

We discovered we had parallel lives as expats flopping between London & Paris,
got slightly emotional about the merits of dry oils,
& held each other as we confessed our desperation for sunshine.

Ok, now I'm exaggerating...
but one thing that happened for sure
was that I fell head over heels for
Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino line.

The least provocative ad for Neroli Portofino one can find.
This stuff is the real deal.

It's such a steady scent of fresh notes of the Mediterranean
wrapped in a luxe essence that only Tom Ford could master.

It's the perfect fresh scent to get you ready to prance around a resort,
get you in the zone for a ladies lunch over mimosas,
or to accompany you on a night of mingling on a Southern Italian terrace.

{Yes, I reside in a constant mental state of fairy tales...
but it's much prettier there & way more fun.}

The luxe range is killer expensive
with a 3.4 oz bottle of perfume costing $265.

{The real winners of the line, IMO, are the parfume & body splash.}

But as the line is gender neutral,
if you can get your partner on board with how great it is...
you could possibly justify the splurge as a "joint purchase."

Neroli Portofino, Tom Ford: Shower Gel | Private Blend Bar Soap $35 | Candle $85
 50 ml Parfum $265 | Moisturizer $65 | Body Splash $70

Until I can convince Tyler to join in on the splurge,
I'll be enjoying the free samples my new friend sent home with me...
and dreaming of that future evening on the Mediterranean
dressed in a gauzy, white dress,
oversized sapphires,
 & Neroli Portofino.

Do you have Neroli Portofino?
Have you found it has increased your presence at Italian soirees & resorts?

  1. ooh lucky duck, you got a free sample! isn't it amazing how a scent can lift you somewhere so disparate from where you are in that moment? i love to try new fragrances when i go on vacation so that whenever i re-smell them i feel like i'm there. :) now i want neroli!

  3. I think I need to make some new friends at the fragrance counter. Normally I run past those free sample-out givers....but hey if this is one of those smells that takes me away....count me in....neroli sounds pretty.

  4. Ohh, I reside permanently in the land of Fairy Tale as well...I think it sometimes becomes a bit of a problem... if only my la-la-land came with a REAL unlimited income! Until then, I will dream up this Neroli Portofino that you make sound so luscious.

  6. Holy moly that is expensive.
It sounds amazing, though! Maybe someday when I'm a millionaire and $265 is pocket change...

  7. I bet you charmed the pants of that man behind the counter- well, I bet you do that with all the men in England. I mean, not literally, haha!
I love smelling good- there's something to be said about a person who takes the time to smell their best, and now I really want to splurge and get some.

  8. Love the scent! A little goes a long way, so I'm pretty sure my bottle will last a long time.

Tom Ford is awesome. My husband actually is the one who introduced me to Neroli. He had some samples after picking up his fave Tom Ford cologne.

  9. Oh wow that sounds magical. I'm going to go find it just to smell it, and then probably end up walking away sad that I can't purchase any.

Why do we torture ourselves like this? haha

  10. I LOVE that scent. I picked up a sample a few weeks ago. Why does it have to be SO expensive.

    One day perhaps...

  14. Oh gosh, it better make one feel like a rock star for that price. Nah, I could get 2 bottles of my Chanel Mademoiselle and one Miss Dior for that price. I like my girly stuff!

  15. I have been dying to try this! I haven't had the chance to smell it personally, but the packaging alone is to die for! And, really, can you ever go wrong with Tom Ford? Tom Ford Black Orchid is my daily scent. I'm sure Neroli wouldn't disappoint!

By the way, I have a great time reading your blog because in a couple of months I move to Europe (Germany) and have been taking notes from you on places to visit!

  16. I've been such a fan of this packaging I'm not surprised it smells amazing. I've been on a perfume kick lately…I definitely want to try this. I'm trying to branch out of my "signature scent" of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue but I just haven't found anything I love more.
