Monday Moods: I feel... stuffed.

After looking over my pictures from the last month's trips,
it's obvious I'm a oratory learner.

As in, I experience/learn through shoving food into my pie hole.

How can you understand Greek gods
until you feast on divine street food?

When in Rome, eat as the Romans do.

Paris, the city of bites.

Let's review shall we?

For only €2.50, get a chicken souvlaki pita. Or two. What the heck. You'll only regret it if you don't.
Seriously, these were my favorite part of our Greek cruise. Seriously.

Imagine an ice cream shop, but with greek yoghurt instead.
Now imagine me crying with love.
This place is Fresko, right below the Acropolis. Fantastic service & yoghurt.

Obviously, growing up in Texas I am quite familiar with Tex-Mex.
However, it's always nice to take a refresher course at Mi Cocina.

Pastries are to Paris what Kate Middleton is to the monarchy.
(a.k.a. the sweetest & most approachable part)
I typically stick to everything chocolate, but have you tried the apricot tarts?
Oh my. Think peaches. Or don't think. Just eat one.

In Paris, there is an entire street in Le Marais named "Falafel Alley."
Which didn't mean anything to me until I put one in my mouth.
For €5, I had a meal that left me stuffed and delirious. They are seriously that good.

But like it always goes...
all good things must come to an end.

One month later,
my jeans feel tight,
and I'm honestly quite uncomfortable
feeling my stomach push into my waistband.

But it was so worth it.

What's something amazing that you've eaten
somewhere special that's left you drooling?
{...and happily chubbier!}

Monday Moods: I feel... apologetic.

For a long time,
I've ripped on cruises
for being cheesy, unoriginal, and mainstream.

I hadn't been on a cruise since early high school,
and in my mind-
had developed a bit of an snotty attitude
towards the idea of them.

Well, I take it back!

Our Royal Caribbean cruise
through the Greek Isles was amazing.

We visited so many places in our 11 days,
and it would have been impossible to duplicate that journey
if it were just us traveling on our own.

(Venice, Corfu, Croatia, Crete, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Olympia)

After planning so many vacations by ourselves,
it was heavenly to not have to think about
where to stay at each new place,
what train/bus/plane to take to get there,
where to find a decent place to eat.

I had even  forgotten how lovely turndown service can be...

The swan towels are slightly bizarre, but hey, I'll take it.

Royal Caribbean was clean, amazing friendly,
and the food was so tasty, this snob is forever silenced.

these little pastries are dangerously addicting.

While there may be other trips
that offer higher exclusivity and swankier crowds,
I would proudly say that our cruise
was the most relaxing trip we have ever taken.

So I hereby apologize.

Royal Caribbean, I spoke to soon.

Thanks for giving me a second chance,
and sweeping me off my feet.

Have you ever cruised?
Did you love it as much as us?

Monday Moods: I feel... peaceful

We got home early yesterday morning from our cruise.

I'm still glowing from our wonderful time...
literally, I got some much needed sun,
but even more so, I just feel good.

After an amazing Easter spent with friends
a church service that left me feeling very grateful,
an evening in the garden of our favorite pub,
and watching my niece smile as she showed off her new skills walking (via skype)...

I'm waking up today, sipping my coffee, catching up on blogs,
and finding that I'm still stuck on island time.

Ahh, it feels so great.

I hope you enjoying a slow start to your week,
or at least have a happy hour planned for the end of it!

My big, fat, Greek cruise.

Before we booked our cruise,
I had to have a serious conversation with Tyler.

I looked him in the eye,
and asked him if he would judge me
for the obscene amount of food
I would inevitably eat in Greece.

He rolled his eyes and replied that
"No, of course [he] wouldn't judge me...
because [he'd] been married too long to remember
that other girls don't eat the quantities of food I do."

It was one of the sexier things he's ever said.

Now I'm cruising away in Greece.

It's as glorious as it sounds.

What's better than the sunshine,
the crystal blue waters,
and the towel animals left by room service
on my bed each night....

is the food.

No wonder the gods chose Greece for their home.

I mean, even I'm rethinking our future
to live close to such an abundance of tziziki.

When are we going on a blogger cruise?

{because it's already not soon enough}

Club Med

I'm leaving for Italy.

I've been wanting to tell you,
but I was afraid you would think I'm ridiculous.

We're heading to Venice...
where we will board a cruise

on good island locals?

Well, when we were looking around,
we found a great deal,
and figured we should go for it.

I mean, we do live in Europe...
so a Mediterranean cruise isn't really all that posh.

It's just kinda like
a trip to... the lake?

Maybe?

I'll be around the blog...
but for the next few hours,
 I'm a packing fool.

I would tell you to watch
or
to escape on your own Greek adventure...
but I already feel like there is enough judgement
happening from this post
so I'll just quit while I'm ahead.
