Naughty... but Nice.

Today I did something naughty.

{but with good intentions...}

But I had to make sure everyone knew that

TODAY IS HER 30th BIRTHDAY!

So do I regret it?

Nope.

Will I be punished?

Probably.

But, hey, what are friends for?

Little Black Book: Stratvs Vineyard

When we went to the Canary Islands,
we stumbled upon someplace extraordinary.

{And I've been dying to share it with you ever since.}

In the midst of an island full of camels & volcanic debris, lies
a vineyard growing in lava fields.

Following in Canarian tradition,
this vineyard does not have man made water sources to their grapes.

No water line, no sprinklers, nothing.

The volcanic rock is so porous
 that it absorbs enough humidity and rain water to keep the grapes hydrated.

The roots crawl through the layers of earth
until they find a home that is quenches it's thirst.

{Isn't that incredible?}

All the farming for the grapes
is done in methods that have been practiced on the Canary Islands
for hundreds of years.

However, once those grapes are cut-
they quickly warp
 from Flinstone-style farming to Jetson-esque production
in one of the world's most modern wine facilities.

With all modern machinery & techniques,
Stratvs has perfected the art of making wine.

You will walk through all the machinery, aging, & bottling plant-
 until at last,

And then you get to taste it.

you are in for a treat.

Have you ever been to a winery?
Did you like the experience?
{ Or do you prefer to enjoy the art from your own patio? }

Krafting My Return

Last night I flew home to England.

After electrical problems in the cock-pit,
right engine failure while galloping down the runway,
a passenger having a diabetic seizure that led to
paramedics rushing on board,
and a blind woman having a panic attack and jumping ship
on our grim looking flight...

AA #78 took off 4 hours late.

But alas- I'm now in Oxford now with
 Mr. Aspiring Kennedy.
{and he's still as handsome as always}

Now I'm unpacking my souvenirs
which look a little like this...

What can I say?
I'm a simple girl at heart.

Four months was a long time without some
 high-sodium, processed, canned food.

Bring it on.

What comfort companions
would you bring along with you?

Alluring Kennedy: Hugh Dancy

*The hilarious and hip, Laura, of Something Legit is back.
And thank goodness: she's educating us on a new Alluring Kennedy... Mr. Hugh Dancy*

Oh Hugh, my English Muffin!

Can we say:

A cutie?
{Yes}

Just a regular bloke?
{Maybe}

Wears a suit better than most mortal men?
{Always}

O-M...
  (I have dropped the G for dramatic effect)

This last look is fatal.

 I would have done a double take and then fainted in the street.

Monday Moods: I feel... sneaky.

Oh yes, I feel sneaky... to say the least!

My dear friend, Kellee, is having a baby this morning...
and her sweet husband flew me in to be a part of the day
as a great big surprise to his baby mama!

{Isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever heard?}

I also got to surprise my other great friend, Beth,
with a 30th Birthday brunch on Saturday....
as we laughed our way through what became
 a hilarious comedy of errors!

I'm here for just a brief few days, but it's been great to be home
to be with the ones I love so dearly-
and have missed so much over the past four months!

Kennedy Family Heritage

Whether you inherited a rich history,
or have created one for future generations-
isn't it amazing to be a part of a story bigger than yourself?

via
Having your mom's crooked toes,
inheriting your grandfather's passion for science,
or a French last name that has forever left you a Francophile...

And obviously, being named after someone is a fantastic way to continue a legacy.

My parent's didn't name me for 6 weeks.
{which I think is hilarious.... yes, I am the middle child}

but when they did, my middle name came from this man, Landon Saunders.
{Who's incredible... and later officiated our wedding ceremony}.

Were you named after anyone,
or did you name your child after someone special?

These family trees are pretty way to keep your predecessors legacy in a prominent position...
unless you are already doing that with Aunt Tina's nose.

Faux Real?

I've always been a fan of fur!
{Luckily, I can actually be in style now when I wear it now.}

Its such a hot trend this winter here in England!

Topshop, H&M, Harrod's...
it's as noticeable as our first snow!

Here are some of the pieces I have bought...
and others that are on my wish list.

{ahem... £500 Balenciaga mittens.}

I'm Scheming Tonight...

via
It's December 1.

The thinking cap is on.
The french press is brewing.
The pen & spiral are open.

It's go time.

I have 38 people to buy presents for this year.
{Our families are like rabbits, I tell ya.}

So this morning, I sit...
And I browse.

Thinking of the perfect gift...

- for him.

- for her.

- for them.

Undoubtedly,
I'll be facing the English store fronts
in the snow with endless coffee in my hand.

...but I'd love some help from you to keep me in the cozy indoors.

Where is your go-to online resource for the perfect gift???

I'll share my favorite with you:
Nest Dallas
It's quirky, fun, & the website always has great gift ideas!
