Style In Seven

It's Sunday.

The seventh day of the week.

{or, wait, is it the first?}

Let's just stick with the seventh.

It will make it all the more fun
when you head over to
{one of my favorite blogs!}
to see my

{get it? cause it's, like, the 7th day of the week?... maybe.}

I hope you like the guest post,
but even if you don't,
 I know you will LOVE
Christine's gorgeous blog.

iPromise.

Lately, I've been getting a lot of emails lately asking how I take my pictures.

The emails skeptically ask how I take my pictures I take on my iPhone,
and I pathetically try to explain all of the two tips I know.

This afternoon, I downloaded these short clips off Tyler's phone,
and realized I forgot one of my cardinal photography tips:

climbing fences.

Dates & Olives

I have a hot date tonight.

And we're going for Italian.

via
Now I love creamy pasta,
salty antipasti,
& gigantic tiramisu,
but the reason I'm asking for Italian tonight is to get my hands on some...

olives.

I never thought I liked them...
{till I tried them}
and now I love them.

So, yes, a date...
with some olives.

Sound perfect to me!

Do you have a hot date tonight?

With a friend? With the couch? With someone new?

Aquatic Performance

There isn't a cloud in the sky today.

But brr... it is cold!

If the weather can pretend to be in the mood for spring,
gosh darn it- so will I.

I've been looking up places for an April getaway.

Some place exotic.
Some place warm.
Some place surrounded by crystal waters.
Some place we have never been.
Some place that isn't in political unrest....

Which is actually a bit harder to find than you'd imagine.

Until I find that place...
 I'm going on a little retail vacation of my own.

What exotic place would you want to visit?

{Can you tell I need suggestions?}

What else can I say?

Today is just one of those days
where it seems absurdity is going to rule the day.

It starting when I had an allergic reaction to... the cold.

My thighs literally got so cold walking
that they are covered in hives & swollen.

 I'm warming up with fresh Pippin's donuts from today's organic market
{oxymoron?}
and waiting for the first batch of coffee to brew
 in my new coffee maker that arrived this morning...

{After 8 months of a french press, I'm ready to outsource the effort to a machine.}

And of course, laughing about how ridiculous this all is.

Here's to hoping your day
gets off on the right {unswollen} foot....

Book Club, Open Forum

I have book club tonight.

It's always a fun night to get out,
catch up with friends,
& feel like a smarty pants.

I've been in a few book clubs,
and they all seem to be different.

Some are more literary,
some are more about the food,
and some, well, some are just an excuse to booze.

Which category does your group fall into?

If you're looking for a new book,
I highly recommend the book we are discussing tonight,

It's a surprisingly hilarious tale of three hypochondriacs
 floating down the Thames together on vacation.

It was written in the 1800's.

{Who knew, right?}

I've been giggling the whole way though it...
and really need to go finish it before tonight!

ONE for the Press.

My friend, Beth, has a kid.

His name is Maxton,
and he is pretty flippin cute.

And he looked extra adorable

Holy cow, Beth,
stop being so creative & cute.

...or at least offer to be my surrogate.

The Honeymoon Cottage

I was sitting in my pre-furnished aparment,
missing some of "my furniture" today...
and after looking through some pictures,
I realized I never showed you our house.

Not our "flat,"
but our "house" from before we moved.

A 1930's art-deco bungalow
in a preservation district
that also doubled as the best neighborhood in the world.

{They have a block party & parade for everything!}

It was our first home,
other than the upstairs of my parents
and we lived there for two really sweet years.

When we moved out and locked up for the last time,
Tyler looked over and saw me in a panic to hold back some big tears.

Not because I wasn't excited to move to England,
but because it felt like a goodbye to such a sweet time in our life.

We re-did this house all by ourselves.

Not because we wanted a DIY-
but we didn't have money to pay someone to do it.

So we worked hard to blend new with old,
nice with thrifty,
and things we loved with things we didn't...

But thinking back to the memories we had there...
our little house of 1095 sq ft
will always be a special chunk of time to us both.

Yep.

It was in these cozy walls
{that I repainted at least 12 times, seriously},
that I learned that I'm a bigger fan of a happy home
than a well designed one.

as I sit on the teal suede loveseat
in our flat in Oxford.
