I'm in Oslo, Norway right now.
I feel like I've discovered Utopia.
{or one of the LOTR fairy lands...}
{or one of the LOTR fairy lands...}
The people are like svelte blond fairies,
the weather is amazing,
the architecture and design makes you light-headed....
but holy cow-
IT'S SO EXPENSIVE HERE!
I mean
like. so. expensive.
Let me translate this situation
from Norwegian into English for you:
via |
A Big Mac is $12.00 in Oslo.
TWELVE DOLLARS.
Now, I don't actually eat Big Macs...
but hopefully that makes you feel
very, very, sorry for me
for spending $35 on a salad for dinner.
Ok... then again, I am in Norway.
Don't feel too bad for me,
I guess.
Don't forget to enter to win
the amazing, special, super dooper
from Miss FabK!
I wouldn't eat a Big Mac anyway...but seriously it costs $12.00??? Try to find some street fair with food or a farmers market! I hope you're having fun and enjoying EVERYTHING!

Wow, that's wild! I hope you share some Oslo pictures with us eventually -- it sounds like a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteNow you know what they're all so svelte, they don't eat, it's too expensive;)
ReplyDeleteI remember when a friend of mine went to Vienna and talked about ordering a coke that cost $7.00 and that was 10 years ago!
Enjoy you're time there though, can't wait to hear more.
Cheers!
J.
I would still eat a $12 Big Mac...
ReplyDeleteI wish I could feel bad for you... but I don't. You're somewhere totally cool and I'm still jealous. I do hope you're having fun though!
ReplyDeleteRamblings of a Small Town Girl
That is out of control! Hope you're taking a billion pictures!
ReplyDeleteI think we need to charge more for junk food here in the states so we would look like svelte Scandanavians. You know you are supposed to be eating Herring and some sort of smelly fish in Norway, don't ya?
ReplyDeletepve
what?!!! That is crazy!!
ReplyDeleteBut yes...you are in Norway!! HOW COOL!!
A $12 burger would make me turn vegetarian in a NY minute - maybe sticking to Norwegian fare is a less expenive way to go. Fish, anyone?
ReplyDeleteI hope you visit Vigeland Sculpture Park--it's captivating.
ReplyDeletemark and i were just talking about norway and its prices tonight! a swiss guy came back and complained that norway was expensive...and for a SWISS person to say that is insane because switzerland is expensive also! i had a big mac meal the other day and it was 12.70 =)
