The hills are alive.
with the sound
of an airplane landing at Heathrow...
Tyler lands this morning
after being apart for 16 days.
That's a long time, guys.
She's so beary excited. |
That's, like, 17% of Viola's life.
I'm already doing a happy dance
about him being back...
Special thanks for my mother-in-law
for being the wind beneath my wings for the past two weeks
helping with le bebe while I worked,
doing endless loads of laundry,
and never judging me for sleeping in
until 11:20 yesterday & today.
{Or at least, not letting on if you did!}
Today's going to be great for me.
I hope it's awesome for you, too!
How do you function on when you're on your own?
Better Off
or Better Not?

It's so great that you're family will travel and visit often!
ReplyDeleteJoe & I will be parting ways this weekend for about 2.5 weeks. He used to work away a lot but this year we've hardly had to spend 1 night apart. Obviously I'd rather have him with me but I do love the feeling of being reunited!
(Viola just keeps getting cuter & cuter!)
that is the cutest hat on her!! and I LOVE your coat!!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY so pleased - that is a long time...give him an extra big squeeze from sunny France. You're really fortunate to have such a great MIL.
ReplyDeleteYAY that Tyler is coming home, but also I AM OBSESSED WITH BABIES WITH EARS. That hat is too amazing. I may buy it now for my future child (no I'm not preggers). Creepy?
ReplyDeleteShe is the cutest thing!
ReplyDeleteMy cohabing bf travels. All. The. Time. For work, do I get a lot of alone time. Some weeks it is super welcomed so I can watch the bachelorette without judgement, or sleep in to the last minute since we aren't doing the getting ready dance together. But let's be real... Being apart sucks. I am starting to think I need a dog so at least I can talk to something when he is gone. Right now the conversations with myself are a bit ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Tyler is home and yay for helping hands and 11am sleepins.
her little hat- sooooo cute!! I definitely do better when my person is here. We don't live together, but on weekends together he cooks and cleans and the banal day-to-day stuff is somehow much more fun!
ReplyDeleteYay for fellas coming home! :) :) :)
Yay! Being away from the huz is SO crappy. Glad you two will be reunited today!! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteyahhh! im glad you are reuninting soon!! and WOWZAH that is a cute bebe. loving the little bear hat! xo jillian
ReplyDeleteMy God....16 days????I think I cannot stay without him so much!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, enjoy you happy day, happy girl!!!
And, once again, compliments for your little baby girl!!!
Enjoy the reunion with your hubby! I can't imagine being away that long with a new little in your lives - kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering how the heck you do all that on your own. So glad you had some family to help. But really happy for you that those 16 days are about over!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, V's hat kills me. i bet you both are really happy to have him back. :)
ReplyDeleteAwh, at least you had your sweet cuddle bug to help pass the time! And what a lovely MIL you have :)
ReplyDeleteseriously. she is stinkin adorable! And you are super skinny there, momma! I honestly don't know how you did 16 days away (but so glad you had your MIL help.) I cry when Matt and I are apart for more than a day.. so I would go with better not! Happy reunion!!!
ReplyDeleteso glad you had some help. i was wondering how you were coping so well and with such ease--well i bet you cope amazingly anyway. me on the other hand would be a mess and not a hot one either :)
ReplyDeleteShe is so beautiful and I love her hat. You always radiate that motherly love when you are looking at her which is wonderful. When M and I are apart, I really am much more efficient! Sad, but true.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy an evening apart now and then (when he has a late meeting) b/c it means PBJ for everyone...no cooking a big meal. But, I don't like nights apart. I think the longest we've ever been apart is a week, but that was before kids (different job then).
ReplyDeleteYour baby bear never fails to make me laugh, whether it's full-on bear suit or fuzzy bear ears!
ReplyDeleteIts tough being apart when you have a family to raise. Ryan and I have done it several times now do to the military, travels, and visa processes. We have done it so much and for so many months at a time that now I dont like being apart an evening if he goes out with his friends. So glad you are blessed with a great mother in law...I cannot speak on experience, but that sounds like it woudl make any length of absence so much easier. great photos girl.
ReplyDeleteBonnie
The hill shots are gorgeous! We don't have a baby yet, but we definitley don't do well without each other...I miss him after even a couple of days. :) You are a trooper for sticking it out, and I know your family is happy to be reunited!
ReplyDeleteBaby bear is adorable...
Oh Lauren, you are such an amazing mum. And you have done so well without Tyler. I know and feel your pain though - my husband travels often for business and it sucks :( Being a mom is 24 hour work but so awesome and rewarding too - it is also nice to have daddy close by. My MIL is so awesome too, and I don't know what I would do without her...
ReplyDeletex
viola is seriously adorable! you look so blissful! happy for you pretty mama.
ReplyDeleteYeah Stacey!! Also that last picture, I could just die.
ReplyDeletereunions are the best :)
ReplyDeleteYou two...seriously - stop the cuteness!
ReplyDeleteThat hat though, oh my! It's too much adorableness for a photo!
I function well both on my own and with my hubby (we have been long distance for over 3 years), but I function happier when I am with him. Everything is that little bit better with him. I think having a reunion to look forward to is the best feeling ever! A positive to focus on during the separation from a loved one.

These pictures are amazing- Viola's hat is the best thing I've seen all day. And yay for you having such a lovely mother-in-law, it must make things so much easier! xx
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I hope the reunion was sweet. What a stellar mother-in-law you have! I do pretty well on my own, and you're right 14 days can feel like a long time, but my husband was in the military and we went through three separate 7-8 month deployments, so I guess it all depends on your point of reference.
ReplyDeleteGraham and I have spent a lot of time apart (gracias, Navy) and while I do enjoy getting the house all to myself occasionally, it does get lonely. But there is nothing better than a homecoming, hope yours was extra happy!
ReplyDeleteMeghann
Oh my gosh! These photos are beyond perfection!!!!! And that last one needs to be put in a gorgeous frame and just admired by everyone. So beautiful!
ReplyDelete(Ps... you are the best looking new momma I've seen!)
she is getting prettier by the day! Love her!! Cant wait to see you soon! enjoy Tyler's arrival xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos.
ReplyDeletemy husband deploys several times a year but I still can {barely} fall asleep when he is gone and keep my phone on high for email alerts. Thats the downside, the upside is popcorn and ice cream for dinner every night without judging eyes! I do love when the mommas visit while he is gone. It's quality girl time! enjoy him being home!
ReplyDeleteI moved back from California a few weeks ago with my two boys and very pregnant with our third, while my husband stayed back to wrap his thesis up. While I love having the help of family, I am missing my coparent and partner something awful! Glad he is home. Viola is beautiful!
ReplyDeletethanks a lot for your valuable sharing, right from the beginning till end it was really very informative.I can witness the experience and steps you have taken to accomplish this wonderful work.
