Most Important Meal of the Day.

I wonder what Ms. Middleton will be eating for breakfast tomorrow.

I'm guessing the only thing that she will have on her stomach
as she leaves in her carriage for Westminster Abbey is a pile of nerves.

Lucky for us-
we only have to watch the big event.

I love how many of my American friends
are making a breakfast party of the early morning spectacle.

It's actually a great meal to do in Brit fashion,
because honestly- breakfast is done really well here.

If you've never been to England before,
you might  be staring in disgust at the plate before you.

Yeah, some of it could go away in my opinion...
(Ciao for now, mr. blood sausage & british bacon!)

But the genius behind two fried eggs
and some Heinz baked beans
(a different style than the southern dish),
sopped up with some crispy toast is amazingly good.

Not quite a believer?

Just come over to England,
and I'll make you a breakfast that will change your little mind.

If you aren't looking for a sodium-drenched wedding watch
here are some other great breakfasts that will leave you feeling like a princess.

Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls have become a legends for a reason.
This walnut shortbread recipe makes me feel like a lady.
England has turned me into a huge fan of "yoghurt" parfaits like this one
Do you remember those funfetti pancakes I showed you? Yum.

Happy Wedding Watching!

Million Dollar Pancakes

In the past,
I've proven to be a bit controversial.

Today, I'm back with another divisive statement:

I think pancakes are gross.

While they may be cute in theory,
they are a soggy mess of bread, butter, and syrup
in real life.

But like cheese and olives,
I'm trying.

So I've found a few spin-offs of the classic pancake
that not only have me willing...
but excited to whip out the old griddle!

While these may seem the same as your standard pancake,
I can't wait to try this out.

Not only are they far prettier,
but I love that these pancakes have more crispy edges
to withstand the soggy fate of a fluffy pancake.

Chocolate shavings, espresso powder in the batter,
marscapone cheese filling...

I would be so tricked by these that I might even eat it for dessert.

I think that is frosting instead of syrup...
which tricks my mind into thinking it's a giant cake donut...
but with funfetti sprinkles.

but hey... they are vegan,
so they can't be too bad, right?

I guess not ALL pancakes are gross.
{just plain ones that get real mushy...}

To be honest,
I did love a good Cory Cake from Legal Grounds
when we lived in Dallas

{Pancake with granola, strawberries, banana, and apple praline syrup.}

And I do have a recipe for a mutation of a pancake
that I can not wait to share with you later this month.

It's loaf-ier and saltier...
and probably involves bacon.

You may name your first kid after me once you try it.

Or not.

Either way, you'll like it.

Morning, lovies!

I'm up early,
and scooting around town
making some Valentine's Day gifts.

{Would you be interested in a peek & tutorial?}

I hope you have success in whatever tasks are ahead of you today,
and remember to start on a full stomach.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,
and it's bonkers delicious, too!

What's your breakfast of champions?

This is how we roll in these parts...

Sinnamon Sundays.

Good morning, friends!

In England, this twosome is waking up to
cinnamon toast & coffeee...

no regrets here!

Aren't Sundays the best day to recharge & rest...
and take advantage of the slowness to reconnect?

{...and, of course, read some good blogs!}

Monday Moods: I feel... cozy.

Brrrrr...
Welcome to England, Winter!

Weekend Wishes

Another week accomplished
in all of our respective fields.

Whether you blogged, bought, bossed, or baked this week...

I raise my glass {of OJ} to you:

Well done!

Here's to hoping
your weekend days are full
of the coziest of comforts!

fast. break.

Sometimes I forget how wonderful
breakfast can be.

How pitiful is it
that we only observe
this serene time of day
with the best food
on the weekends?

I think I'll start doing my best to change that.

In the meantime, are you enjoying anything delicious now? :)

It's spring time,
and as sure as I have on a sun dress & cardigan,
I am in the mood for brunch with friends.

Craftbar is THE place to start a Sunday.

Start with the biscuits & homemade donuts
(You won't regret this advice.)

Then mosey along the way of a frittata...

and some of the most delicious potatoes & cippolini onions.

Thank you, Tom Colicchio,
for making Sunday a bit more heavenly!
