I'm headed to Louisville, Kentucky,
and I must admit I have never been there.

I could easily guide you through the bus routes of Italy,
but wouldn't know how to get to the nearest gas station in most US towns.
It's quite pathetic, actually.

This week, I aim to amend this offense with full appreciation for
the soulful Southern city
(and have a fabulous time, too).

In efforts to achieve the quintessential Louisville experience,
the natural choice was

Apparently while at the landmark hotel,
it's only standard to indulge in a Hot Brown Sandwich.

Which came first- the chicken or the egg?
Did the hotel make the sandwich famous, or vice versa?
While we may never know,
we do know that
this sandwich was invented in 1926 by
The Brown Hotel's chef Fred K. Schmid.

It was a clever combination of
leftover turkey, white bread, loads of cheese, bacon (but, of course),
& mornay sauce
(which boasts a lineage of onion, butter, and cheese).

I will consider polishing this off as the completion of penance
to the great city of Louisville.

(more photos to come as my journey unfolds....)

It's spring time,
and as sure as I have on a sun dress & cardigan,
I am in the mood for brunch with friends.

Craftbar is THE place to start a Sunday.

Start with the biscuits & homemade donuts
(You won't regret this advice.)

Then mosey along the way of a frittata...

and some of the most delicious potatoes & cippolini onions.

Thank you, Tom Colicchio,
for making Sunday a bit more heavenly!

Look who's
with her best friend,

I am a bit late seeing this, but friendship like ours shouldn't be ignored.
Read the full article here on Social Whirl.

In honor of our buddy pic,
here are some of Mr. Adler's pieces
that I love most:

I want to lay on them, read books on them,
and have photo shoots taken of me
wearing a white dress
lounging on them.

from the Menagerie Collection.
Who could resist with it's secretive acorn lid?

This rug is really trying hard
to break my heart.
Must. Not. Resist.

Thanks to the Jonathan Adler website for photos!

Courtisans in costumes.
Royalty splashed in powder & pastels,
and dripping with decadence.

All under the
direction of grand dame,

How would could anyone hold it against me for
obsurdly craving
a 2 hour reunion with the movie,

Look Book: Spain Edition

Have you ever been to the site, Look Book?

In my head, this could be me.

After lunch

in Barcelona

waiting for my driver

to take me shopping.

It's finally warming up to beach weather.
Which obviously means:
I'm entitled to my first Lobster Roll of the year.

Head south towards Greenwich Village to
for one of the city's finest.

Every Monday, the Lobster Roll is the daily special.
For $20, you can have a lobster roll, old bay fries, and Blue Point Lager!

And who can resist the free chocolate pot-de-creme
to end on a high note?

Not me.

As a child I dreamed of being like Liesl Von Trapp
from The Sound of Music.

As a grown woman, I still do.

However, in the real world
(where adult women do still dream of going on 16...),
Liesl's name is Charmian Carr,
Visit her website where you can buy her book about her
life-changing role in the 1960 classic film.

I know that role changed her life, but I'm fairly sure it changed mine, too.

Did any other little girls grow up dreaming of being Rolf's main squeeze?

I am not a motorcycle girl.
There is nothing that piques my interest about them.
Not the bikes, not the culture, not the wardrobe.

Not so much.

However, I may not mind a scooter.

Especially after I saw this from Alex.

Now this, my friends, is something I could get into.
