Candace Bushnell: Making This Summer Hot.

This year will be a year
that I remembered for many reasons.

I moved to England.
I started my dream job.
I contemplated an affair with a Croque Madame in Paris...

and I became obsessed with Candace Bushnell.

Remember last year when I received

I soooo underappreciated that.

Had it been this year,
it would have been a different story.

True, I'm a little late in the game.
Candace Bushnell's already been a legend for years
for the creation of Sex & The City...
but what can I say?

Endless hours on British public transport
have provided the perfect setting for me
to get immersed in her books for hours upon end.

In fact, I finished the last pages
of my only remaining Bushnell book, Trading Up,
on my way home from London last night.

As fate would have it, I soon learned
that the new sequel to last year's prequel
of Sex and the City,
goes in store today
at Barnes & Noble.

Just in time for summer,
and just in time to keep my addiction fed.

  1. o! i need to check this book out! i am a huge S&TC fan. xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams

  2. i have never read candace though i am a HUGE HUGE HUGE s & t c fan! it took me awhile to get that: "a sequel to a prequel" haha.

  3. I have read one of Candace's books - but only in the summer. They are the best beach reads ever and this one will be on my list this year!

  4. I haven't ventured into the Carrie Dairies territory just yet...I'm thinking my upcoming plane ride might be perfect!

    hope you love it!

  5. It is a fun read and so much fun to see how Carrie meets Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte! Happy Reading!

  6. you had to mention a croque madam?!?!?!?! cue stomach growling!

  7. What a great tribute! What is your job? I would love to hear more about it!

  8. i may have to pick this up. i have a couple of her first books that i tried to read after i started watching sex in the city...(10 years ago...i had to whisper that...i feel so old), but i couldn't really get into it. probably because i kept comparing it to the show. i'm actually going to do a post soon about my favorite books! we seriously are some great minds!

  9. The Carrie Diaries is just waiting on my nightstand for me! I'm done with Something Borrowed, so I think I'll curl up with Carrie tonight!

  10. That was all the encouragement I needed to add these books to my summer reading list! Thanks for the tip! :)

  11. I loved Trading Up! I think it was my favorite! I also liked 4 Blondes a lot too!

  12. I love her. SATC even gets its own little scene in Palaces & Calluses.

  13. I have read all of her books too! I just finished Summer in the City-I thought it was great and better than the Carrie Diaries!

  14. MUST ORDER this book now! Thanks (sorry to have shouted, got excited!) :)
