Camelot Comes No More.

I received an email last night
from a friend
that made me terribly sad.

It was this link that announced
the cancellation to the
controversial A&E mini series,
The Kennedys.

With a cast with as many stars
as the American flag,
{lead roles by Katie Holmes & Greg Kinnear}
the network has decided that the representation
is not a good fit it's brand.

Already produced?
Going to waste?

Devastation.

It's like having a wrapped package under the tree
{that you've already peeked to find its fabulous}...
and getting tossed in the trash on Christmas eve.

Here's the trailer below...
It looked so good.

I think we should be able to vote on the fate of this movie.

{Because those in favor, of seeing it air, would be... I.}

  8. It looked amazing and had a great cast. Hopefully someone else will air it. Can that happen?

  9. Wow! Thanks for the update. I was looking forward to this as well. I remember seeing photos from the summer of Katie and Suri while she was at various sites filming in the Toronto area (my hometown). I couldn't imagine another network not picking it up.

  10. I just heard this today and was rather confused. Seems a little late in the game to be deciding not to air this. Hmmmmmm....something seems amiss.

  11. it was pulled because it was historically inaccurate and didn't portray the Kennedys in a good light. I hope it will see the light of day I was looking forward to it

  12. Evidently the family had it cancelled so I doubt it will be picked up anywhere. Too bad.

  16. I read that its being shopped around to other networks, as someone mentioned Showtime. I think with it already being done and the calibar of its stars we'll see it on another network.

    I also had read that the History Channel was under pressure from the Kennedy family to not air it.

  18. I have mixed feelings on this one. I love the Kennedy's but I heard that they went so far to even suggest that JFK himself was the one who suggested the building of the Berlin Wall...but I have heard rumblings of the mini series being picked up by other networks!

  19. It appears, my world traveler, ex pat, and aspiring Kennedy, that it will air internationally as planned. So you're all set--movie night in Oxford?!

    I'll bring the Ranch Style beans ;)

  20. I was SO bummed by this news, too! I couldn't wait to see Katie Holmes attempt to do Jackie O justice!

  21. I'm really hoping that Showtime or another network picks it up...I was so looking forward to it!

  22. I heard that the company only owned distribution rights within the U.S., so it still might be released on TV out of the U.S. There is also a possibility a pay-for-channel like Showtime will pick it up.
