My (Awesome) Monogrammed Purse

Last week, I posted about the 4th of July

In the midst of all the patriotic kumbayah we were passing around,
a lot of you asked about the purse I was sporting...
and I'm so glad you did as I've been waiting to tell you all about it.

Yes, this purse does have my initials on it!

And yes, it's totally awesome!

(Oh wait, you didn't ask that question did you? Oh well. It is.)

My buddy, Beth, got one for Pulp Design
and I went bonkers over it.

Like, I emailed the company, GiGi New York, right then & there.

My own bag arrived just in time for my June trip through Milan & Paris.

Not only is it modern & pretty,
but it's also a great traveling accessory.

It poses well with you in touristy photo-opps,

.... it's functional design makes it ideal for holding small adorable children,

.... it behaves well during Chinese foot massages,

... and it sticks by your side when you are headed to the US Embassy,
your shoe slips off on the Metro platform & falls below the train,
and you are forced to walk with one barefoot up the Champs Elysees to buy a new pair.

{Editor's Note: This is a very real story that I can not retell without crying/laughing.}

I absolutely might have an awkward strong affection for this purse.

Thank you GiGi New York for making something awesome
that I can also (and maybe most importantly?) put my initials on.

  1. Lauren, I have this in the big tote in the taupe-y brown. It's PERFECT for work and fits everything without being bulky. Now I need the cross-body bag too! Hope all is well. xoxo

  5. Love that bag - and love that you can put initials on it!

(PS. Can't believe you lost a shoe and had to walk the Champs Elysees barefoot - of course that wouldn't happen near a beach or something but on the CE. Too funny!)

  6. You have a great name for monogramming. Lol.
Seriously though - not everyone's initials look or sound as good as "LBK"

  9. Love the bag, but what I really want to know - being French and all - is: What store did you replace your missing shoe in on the Champs-Elysees? Don't tell me you found a new pair chez Louis (Vuitton?) There aren't that many shoe store on the most famous avenue in the world, and your options were certainly limited :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  10. That's such a sweet cross body bag. Not to big, not to small, and the monogram is the kicker! Terribly sorry that you lost your shoe, sounds..nasty, but at least it makes for a great story. :-/

  11. I may have checked out your other shoes to see the cuteness level, which determined whether I thought the story was funny or sad. You seem to find it funny, so I'm guessing the shoes were not a critical pair!

    Checking out the bag now!

  12. I'm such a sucker for anything with my initial on it. Awesome bag!
Your shoe fell below the train? WHAT?!!!!!
Also, you are so adorable in glasses. It's like, the cuteness factor went up by a hundred.
