Atlantic Ping Pong

We have a six month old baby.

She's been on 13 flights so far,
visited 4 countries
& 4 states.

She's an amazingly sweet baby
and such a great flyer...

but this week
we may push her limits.

Today we are flying back to England.

And then Sunday,
we are flying back west
to Reykjavic, Iceland.

We may be out of our minds,
but, oh well.

Even though it's just for a couple of days,
it will be nice to be back in our flat
see our friends
and get ready for the (crazy!) semester ahead.

I pick up my fall semester of students
in Iceland in 6 days.

It's about to get... well, exciting.

My dad was telling me today that I need to do a post
about how-to travel with a baby...
but I don't want anyone to call CPS on me
after I reveal my secrets.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

The truth is,
this kid is super chill
and makes us look good.

(Why do I have the feeling as you are reading that sentence,
I'm going to be bouncing a squawking baby up & down an airplane aisle?)

And when it's not easy,
we'll we just figure that it's only x amount of hours
and it will all be over & worth it.

Don't forget to follow along on the Instagram adventure
(username: aspiringkennedy).

Iceland is out of this world beautiful.
You're not going to want to miss a beat.

  1. Iceland has always been on my list, a shame my parents did not take me when we lived in Europe. Def want to take my husband and sons there soon.

  9. Iceland is awesome, you will love it! We have been doing the UK-US-Europe-Canada traveling with our kids since they were about 8 weeks old (the joys of having a baby in London with family in the US, the moving back to the US with family in the UK!) and honestly we love it, but we have really, really good travelers too. We have never let our kids slow us down in terms of travel, and now our 5 year old is planning trips to China, Australia and more :)

  10. Please do a post about traveling with a baby! Our seven month old has been on ten flights, but all within the continental U.S. and all less than 2 hours. We'd love to expand our horizons at some point, and would be so appreciative if you would share your secrets! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with Viola with the rest of us! It makes my day to see a new post on Aspiring Kennedy!

  17. I am betting she will do fine. I was an American Mom living abroad over 35 Yrs ago. My daughter grew up on an airplane. She is now an executive that travels to China...writing leadership programs for their banking executives.

  22. Oh gosh, we just did a trip to the motherland ('Merica) with our six month old as we live in Japan. I visited so many states it was insane. I feel like I learned SO much and am thankful I learned those lessons now before we go to Korea and Bali soon.
